Bargain Blessings for Coupon Shoppers

The Denver Post recently published a profile of coupon clipper extraordinaire, Jennie Sanford, and her BargainBlessings.com website–a comprehensive resource for the experienced as well as the wannabe coupon-clipping superstar. In fact, Jennie runs a Couponing 101 class on a monthly basis to help budget-stretched shoppers save big with coupons.

A friend introduced her to the concept of “tactical couponing”; using only coupons that double in value (see image below) and then matching them with other store based and gift card incentives to get the maximum bang out of your coupon use. Needless to say, Ms. Sanford was a quick study!

Three Quick Couponing Tips

  1. Create a strong organization system so that you know what coupons you have and clean them out as they expire.
  2. Only use coupons that can be doubled in value – see the image below
  3. Read the fine print, it’s the words on the coupon, not the illustration that matters.
